ABOUT ME I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and moved to Ventura County, California when I was 3 years old. After growing up on the breezy coast of California, I moved further inland and completed a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Redlands, where I also pursued studies/research in physics, mathematics, and computer science. During this time, my passion for astronomy research flourished, with an REU I participated in only further strengthening my resolve to pursue a career in astronomy. Unfortunately, I ran into financial issues and was unable to pursue graduate school immediately. After graduating, I spent a year freelancing as an audio specialist, composer-performer, and K-12 music educator before deciding it was time to dedicate my life to this amazing field!
Currently, I'm pursuing an MA in Astronomy at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, where I research active galactic nuclei and other observationally-interesting objects in optical and x-ray wavelengths under my co-advisers Roy Kilgard & Edward Moran, as well as serve as a teaching assistant in introductory astrophysics courses. I hope to continue on towards a career of research and teaching by attending a PhD program in astrophysics, with the hope to explore galaxy formation/evolution and large-scale structure theory and/or observation.
In addition to my astrophysical endeavors, I'm a multidisciplinary artist at heart! If I'm not out observing or working on data reduction, you can probably find me rehearsing with one of my many contemporary classical / new music ensembles, sketching ideas for new compositions / performance art pieces, recording the serene natural environments of Connecticut, or cooking delicious vegan food with my best friend / wife and our two kittens!
